What is a uPVC casing pipe used for?

A uPVC casing pipe is used to provide a stable lining inside a borewell or tubewell. Plain casing supports sections of the bore, while screen pipes contain designed openings for groundwater entry where required by the well design.

Size availability depends on the casing series. Duke’s current technical tables include nominal diameters ranging from DN35 to DN400 across different CS, CM and CD configurations, along with additional technical variants.

CS, CM and CD are different casing configurations with different dimensional and wall-thickness specifications. The correct series should be selected according to the borewell requirement and Duke’s latest approved technical data.

Not necessarily. Duke’s current CS table lists DN150/6-inch nominal casing with an actual mean outside diameter of approximately 165.0–165.4 mm. The maximum diameter over the connection is larger again.

Duke’s current technical tables include DN165/6.5-inch nominal casing in CS, CM and CD configurations. Wall thickness and connection dimensions vary by series.

Plain casing has a solid wall and is used where water entry through the pipe is not required. Screen pipe contains designed slots or openings that allow groundwater entry in selected sections of a borewell.

“Boring pipe” is an informal market term and can be used differently across regions. In a borewell system, casing pipe supports or lines the bore, while a column pipe carries pumped water toward the surface. Buyers should confirm the required function before ordering.
