What is the IS code for uPVC pressure pipe?

IS 4985:2021 — the latest Bureau of Indian Standards specification for unplasticized PVC pressure pipes for water supply. Duke Pipes manufactures strictly as per IS 4985:2021, updated from the older IS 4985:2000.

Used for agriculture & irrigation, rural & urban water supply, industrial water distribution, cable ducting, car wash systems, swimming pools, and firefighting mains. Available in 6 pressure classes — Class-1 to Class-6.

6 pressure classes: Class-1 (0.25 MPa), Class-2 (0.40 MPa), Class-3 (0.60 MPa), Class-4 (0.80 MPa), Class-5 (1.00 MPa), Class-6 (1.25 MPa). Choose based on your system pressure requirement.

Yes — for long-distance networks, an air release valve (ARV) prevents air locks and water hammer. Duke’s uPVC pressure pipes are compatible with standard air release valves and uPVC butterfly valves.

All Duke uPVC pressure pipes undergo hydrostatic pressure testing as per IS 4985:2021 before dispatch — tested for leaks, wall thickness, and working pressure rating. Duke’s National Quality Award (2007) reflects our commitment to quality testing.
